In Stuttgart, swimming in highly carbonated water that does not contain any chlorine is a tradition that dates back more than 150 years. In the 19th century Bad Cannstatt established itself as a famous spa. Visitors came from all over Europe to enjoy the water. The soil beneath Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt and Stuttgart-Berg holds gigantic treasure troves: 19 mineral sources (13 of which have been certified as healing spa sources by government). This makes Stuttgart Western Europe’s number one producer of mineral water.
